Dogwood Hills Golf Resort & Gardens

The Dogwood Hills Golf Resort and Gardens is a public golf course establishment. Set on a gently rolling terrain about 25 minutes off Interstate 59, south of Chattanooga in the northern slops of Sand Mountain, a sandstone plateau in north eastern Alabama, United States of America.

The beautiful golf course at the Dogwood Hills Golf Resort and Gardens is configured as two returning nines. It measures 18 holes and an estimated 6600 yards from the gold tees. To quite a high degree, Dogwood Hills Golf Course is a thought-provoking, parklands blueprint which is characterized by exceptionally well maintained tropical kikuyu grass fairways and bravura bent grass greens.

Even though golf courses often follow the original landscape, Bryce Slater made a few land modifications. The course has matured well since it opened in 1974. It has a four out of five star rating by Golf Digest. It was designed by prior educator and Dogwood Hills Golf Course, founder & owner Bryce Slater with the help of his wife Doris. Bryce Slater passed away on April 17, 2013.

Dogwood Hills Golf Club now belongs to Northeast Alabama Community College Foundation. Dogwood Hills Golf Course hardly experiences snow weather but enjoys long hot humid summers & winters which are short and minor in contrast to the greater Jackson country
