Congressional Country Club, Blue Course

The Congressional Country Club is a private golf society located on the fringe of Bethesda, Maryland in Montgomery County, USA. The Congressional Country Club, Blue Course is ranked amongst the best 100 golf courses in the United States and has hosted numerous championship events in that respect.

Congressional Country Club was founded in 1924, by Congressman Oscar E. Bland and O.R. Lubring. The CCC, Blue Course is configured as a series of 18 holes measuring to an estimated length of 7,574 yards. Artistic golf course architect Devereux Emmet was the original designer of the Blue Course. It has progressively being redeveloped ever since. It was reshaped by Robert Trent Jones in 1957, and reworked by and Rees Jones twice, in 1989 and again in 2006.

The par 72 course is very demanding, it wanders on an undulating terrain following oddly shaped tree flanked fairways that are covered with Bermuda grass. The greens are fairly wide and are coated with bent grass. Congressional Country Club, Blue Course lies within a humid subtropical weather belt. It enjoys distinct weather patterns with hot, humid summers and a short, mild to cool winter.
