The Olympic Club, Lake Course

The Olympic Club in which the Lake Course is nested, is an exclusive social athletic club located downtown the consolidated city & county of San Francisco in the US State of California.

The Lake Course at Olympic Club is situated on the inner side of a lagoon strip between the North Pacific Ocean and the largest freshwater lake in San Francisco, Lake Merced. weather you succeed or not The Olympic Club, Lake Course is a real test of golf with 18 holes, par 70 and up to 7,000 yards.

The Olympic Club, Lake Course was originally Lakeside Golf Club of 1917. The Olympic Club acquired it in 1918 and replaced it as The Olympic Club, Lake Course. It become the 1924 exquisite success blueprint story by Willie Watson and Sam Whiting. In 1925 The Olympic Club then formally opened its Lakeside clubhouse which was designed by well-known architect Arthur Brown. The Olympic Club, Lake Course was then later amended in 1927 by Sam Whiting due to some serious damage.

The Lake Course at The Olympic Club is nicknamed beauty and the beast for its visually pleasing design layout which is marveled by spectators but tough as a beast to the average golfer. Due to its close proximity to the open ocean, wind is always a major play factor at this course.
